SquareHue April 2015 Swatches, Comparisons, and Nail Art

Hi everyone! Today I (finally) have my SquareHue April 2015 box to show off on the blog! Things on my blog have been a bit backlogged for me these past few months, but this month I’m hoping to cram both subscription box posts in like I want to, rather than dropping the ball like last month…eventually I’ll get back on track with my blog posts…eventually…

Anyways, back to SquareHue! This April box full of bright, happy colors is supposed to represent the next installment in the Decades Collection: the 1930s. Never in my mind would I have associated the era of the Great Depression with bright, happy colors, but I don’t mind whatsoever because I love this box! These are my kind of colors for sure – I love brights!

Swatch – Julep Tanith

Hi everyone! I’ve just got a quick swatch today of an unconventional neutral polish: Julep Tanith. I was picking something that would look good on my little nubs (boo broken nail!) and I settled on this understated – but fabulous – offering from Julep. The thing with me and neutral nail polishes is that I, well, don’t usually like them because I almost always prefer colors. But when I want to wear a neutral polish, then I really REALLY want to wear a neutral polish and then I LOVE them. So, really, it’s kind of a love-hate relationship here, depending on my mood.

In this case, when I was picking a polish, I was crazy digging Julep Tanith, and so I chose it. And i have no regrets about that – it’s amazing!

Simple Textured Triangles Nail Art

Hi everyone! I’ve got some simple geometric nail art today using some textured polishes from the Zoya Pixiedust line! This week I was kind of cramped for time, unfortunately, so I couldn’t do my subscription box posts like I planned. Nevertheless, they’re still going to come out soon (hopefully by the end of the month this time…) and I have a few other fun things to post on my blog in the meantime! Like this nail art!

Textured Triangles Nail Art 6

I don’t really know what inspired me to do this triangle nail art, other than I just felt like doing it and it came out well. I mean, hey, why not? It gave me a chance to break out some of the textured polishes that I don’t feel like I use as often as I should, seeing as I really like using them as nail art accents.

SquareHue March 2015 Swatches, Comparisons, and Nail Art

Hi everyone! Although it isn’t March anymore, I still have my SquareHue March 2015 post on the blog! This post, unfortunately, ended up getting postponed to April because I was sick for quite a while and didn’t have much energy for nail art. But now that I’m better, I can show you all these fabulous polishes!

SquareHue March 2015 Nail Art Water Marble Half Moons 6

This month, SquareHue’s collection was inspired by the 1920s, and I can definitely see how the opulence of the Jazz Age inspired these shimmery, blingy bunch of polishes. As usual, I swatched all the polishes, did a few comparisons, and used all the polishes in the collection to create some fab nail art.

Swatches – Different Dimension Tulips Are Better Than One and Julep Marla

Hi everyone! I sincerely apologize for the lack of blog posts recently. The truth is: I’ve been sick with a really bad cold since my last blog post over a week and a half ago. Between having a fever for a few days, frequent coughing fits, losing my voice for 5 days, and difficulty sleeping, my “energy” for painting my nails (much less nail art) was completely sapped. On the bright side, I’m FINALLY starting to get better after what feels like forever, and I’m back to posting! I know I missed at least one blog post that’s usually a monthly feature on my blog (you probably know what it is), but I hope to get back on track soon and finish up all the things I got behind on when I was sick. Anyways, to any of my readers who have stuck around, thank you so very much for continuing to read my blog ❤

Different Dimension Tulips Are Better Than One

Today I have two swatches of some random polishes I wore while I was sick. The first is Different Dimension Tulips Are Better Than One – a really fabulous bright “blurple” (blue-purple) duochrome shimmer – and the second is the polish I picked to wear on the first night of Passover: Julep Marla. Unlike the majority of the posts where I show swatches of polish, these two don’t really have any relationship to each other. But, still, I thought I’d combine them into one blog post since my swatch posts are pretty short.
